Agnes Solitaire | Play Online Card Game for Free

Enjoy a thoughtful and rewarding solitaire experience built around careful planning and smart card movement.

Agnes Solitaire is a traditional and engaging solitaire card game that combines familiar mechanics with unique building rules. Designed for players who enjoy strategic thinking and methodical gameplay, this classic patience game challenges you to organize the entire deck into foundation piles while making the most of limited opportunities.

At the start of the game, the tableau is set up in seven piles. The first tableau pile contains one card, the second pile contains two cards, and so on until the seventh pile holds seven cards. All cards in the tableau are dealt face up, allowing you to immediately begin analyzing possible moves and planning your strategy.

Once the tableau piles are dealt, one additional card is placed to begin the first foundation pile. In total, there are four foundation piles in the game. Each foundation must start with a card of the same rank as the initial foundation card. This starting rank determines the sequence for all foundation piles and remains constant throughout the game.

The main goal of Agnes Solitaire is to move all cards from the tableau and stock piles into the foundation piles. Foundations are built upward in sequence using cards of the same suit. When a sequence reaches a King, it can wrap around and continue from Ace, allowing for continuous circular building. This wraparound rule adds flexibility but also requires careful tracking of card order.

The tableau piles follow a different set of rules. Cards in the tableau can be built downward by alternating colors, such as red on black or black on red. Similar to the foundations, tableau sequences also support wraparound movement, meaning an Ace can be placed on a King when building downward. This mechanic opens up additional options for rearranging cards and uncovering hidden moves.

If cards within a tableau pile are stacked not only in alternating colors but also in the same suit, they form a valid group that can be moved together as a unit. This feature rewards players who organize cards by suit whenever possible, as moving grouped sequences can significantly improve mobility and efficiency.

Any empty tableau pile may be filled with any single card, giving you the freedom to reposition key cards and reorganize the layout. This rule is particularly useful for freeing blocked cards or setting up long suit-based sequences for future moves.

When no more legal moves are available on the tableau, you can click the stock pile. Doing so deals one card to each tableau pile simultaneously. This action can be performed a limited number of times. After several rounds of dealing from the stock, the remaining cards are laid out and can be used freely to build tableau sequences or complete foundation piles.

As the game progresses, strategic decisions become increasingly important. You must decide when to prioritize moving cards to the foundations versus rearranging tableau piles to create better long-term opportunities. If no further moves are possible and the game cannot continue, you may choose to end the game using the give up option.

Your final score is based on how many cards you successfully move to the foundation piles. The more complete your foundations, the higher your score will be. Agnes Solitaire rewards patience, foresight, and efficient use of every available move.

Playable directly in your browser with no downloads required, Agnes Solitaire is a timeless card game perfect for relaxing sessions or focused problem-solving. Whether you are a solitaire veteran or a casual card game fan, this game offers a satisfying blend of challenge and classic gameplay.
